There are many Cydia tweaks that don’t exactly improve one’s overall user experience or solve a problem but they’re still cool to have nonetheless. One Cydia tweak that comes to mind is Barrel. This is just the sort of tweak that can easily wow anyone and adds some degree of customization. Today, we have that sort of jailbreak tweak for you in the form of Aquaboard for iOS 8.
AquaBoard is the creation of the popular jailbreak developer Elias Limneos – author of great tweaks like CallBar, SBRotator, PagePreview, Instant Mirror and many others. As the name suggests, AquaBoard turns your iPhone screen into water, complete with a ripple effect whenever the screen is touched. It’s really an amazing tweak that looks even better when seen in motion. So here’s the tweak in action:
Aquaboard does come with a few settings for users to configure. There’s the obligatory Enabled / Disable switch. The Water Appearance options will let you choose whether or not to enable the Aquaboard tweak for the Home Screen and Lock Screen. There are also 10 different themes to choose from for further customization like: Aqua Sphere, Unseen Abyss, Smudge Brush, Heavy Taps and more. Finally, there’s the Raining Mode that drops rain on your wallpaper, creating constant ripple effects.
Aquaboard is by no means a brand-new tweak but it has just been updated to work with iOS 8. There are users reporting that it doesn’t work well with the iPhone 6 Plus and might be a little buggy. Other than that, the tweak works great and even plays nice with other tweaks like Forecast, ColorFlow and LockGlyph. The Aquaboard tweak is available for $2.99 under the BigBoss repo.
