We’re quite sure that you’ve been swamped with a huge number of SMS and iMessages on your iPhone or iPad before. In many cases, most of these messages are not even important or you have read these messages before on another iOS device. Or perhaps, you are being flooded with messages from someone you’d rather ignore. It’s a good thing that iOS 8 now lets you mark all messages as Read on iPhone.
How to Mark All Messages as Read on iPhone:
When you are flooded with messages – iMessages or text messages – which you don’t care to read and just want to mark them all as “read”, here are the steps you need to do:
- Launch the Messages app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the “Edit” button found at the top-left corner of the interface.
- The “Read All” button should appear at the bottom-left corner of the screen, tap it.
By tapping the button, this will remove all the indicators of new messages (the blue icons beside the message) and they will be all marked as ‘read.’ This will also remove the number at the top of the Messages app as well as the red badge on the app icon. Basically, it is as if you have read all your messages until of course, you receive new ones later.
Alternatively, you can disable the badges from any given app. But this can be rather counterproductive since you will have no apparent indicator that you have received new messages. So this quick tip to mark all messages as read on iPhone or iPad is your best solution to those annoying deluges of messages.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
