We all have it! Nosy friends and relatives who have no regard for your privacy and will open your Messages app and read your private conversations as soon as they get their hands on your iPhone. Unfortunately, the Messages app doesn’t have a built-in functionality that will enable users to hide specific conversations within the app. Well if you are jailbroken, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a tweak that you can use to hide conversations on iPhone.
The jailbreak tweak that we will feature today is called HiddenConvos by TheNinjaprawn which is mainly used to hide conversations on iPhone, away from prying eyes. How the tweak works is very simple. Upon installation, go to the conversation that you wish to hide and swipe left. You will be presented with two options which are Hide and Delete. By default, you should only see the Delete button without the tweak installed. Basically, HiddenConvos adds the Hide button and tapping it will hide that particular conversation thread.
In order to unhide the conversations, simply tap the Edit button found in the top right corner of the Navigation bar and tap Unhide All. This will of course display all the conversations you have hidden before. One notable function of the tweak is that it disables all the notifications for the conversations that you have selected to hide. It’s a pretty neat touch.
Apart from that, there is not much to the tweak that you can take advantage of. There are no extensive configuration options that you can tinker with as well. It’s just a very straightforward Cydia Tweak that addresses an issue with your iPhone’s privacy. It’s a pretty good tweak and the best thing is, you don’t have to pay for it.
