There are times when the default iPhone volume just doesn’t seem to cut it. It can be frustrating that even when the volume is cranked up to the max, it’s not loud enough when taking calls or listening to music. It’s a good thing that there is no shortage of jailbreak tweaks that address this particular problem. The Volume Amplifier tweak is known to boost iPhone volume and is now updated for compatibility with iOS 8.
For the uninitiated, Volume Amplifier can boost iPhone volume up to 200%. Actually, you can amplify the iPhone’s volume for free just by editing a certain plist file but for the average user, the process can be rather unwieldy. Instead of making some modifications on the system file, Volume Amplifier directly manipulates the audio stream, giving an impression of loudness. Because of this, the iPhone volume will be boosted regardless if you use the speaker, earpiece or headphones.
Once the tweak is installed, you will notice that when using the up/down volume button, you will see a new interface that allows you to crank up the volume past 100% and up to 200%. With the new updated version of Volume Amplifier, it now works with the speaker and earpiece on newer devices like the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c. It also works with iPhone 4S but only through the speakers. Volume Amplifier boosts the volume not only with calls but even for video chats (Skype, Viber), radio apps, and music players.
WARNING: Increasing the volume over the recommended limits can potentially damage your iPhone’s speaker. So exercise caution when installing this tweak.
Volume Amplifier can be bought from Cydia for $1.99, and of course, it requires a jailbroken device. To jailbreak iOS 8.1 on your device, you can use our iOS 8.1 jailbreak guide.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
