Last week, we brought to you a report the Evad3rs team may already have all the pieces for the iOS 7 jailbreak. However, top security researcher and Evad3rs member Pod2g was quick to manage the public's expectations by stating the jailbreak will not come anytime soon. On a related note, Planetbeing of the Evad3rs team has been interviewed in order to shed more light into the progress of the iOS 7 jailbreak.
iDesignTimes spoke to Planetbeing who was able to provide more details regarding the iOS 7 untethered jailbreak. If you are worried your device might not be supported, you'll be happy to know that Planetbeing is fairly confident that the jailbreak will support all devices, including the iPhone 5s.
When I asked him which devices he thought it might support or if the iPhone 5S chipset would pose any problems, he quickly replied, “I’m sure it’ll be for all devices.”
Planetbeing also explained it is not currently possible for the team to release the ETA for the iOS 7 jailbreak. He has this to say:
We don’t have a real proof-of-concept finished. I just believe we have all the individual pieces we need, but they haven’t been written/tested. They just mostly exist in our head right now as a plan. It’s too early to worry about actual release date issues yet since we have no idea what kind of implementation challenges we might run into that might significantly skew the schedule. I was just saying that I think it should be possible to release a jailbreak eventually at least.
In a humorous fashion, he also added:
I think I'm still getting a hang of what to say to the community. They like to amplify it. For the last go around, because there was no news, people assumed there was NEVER going to be a jailbreak and all the hackers were lying in a pile defeated somewhere. Now I've said something positive, and people are assuming it'll be out in a few days.
As you can see, it seems that it is still quite a long way before people can get their hands on the jailbreak. In contrast, the iOS 6 jailbreak was released four months after the software has been launched. Are we looking at the same release timeline? Well, all we can do is to be patient and wait. The iOS 7 jailbreak is already in good hands, it will only be a matter of time.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
