Although it was made available in the New Zealand and Australian App Stores, it was only 10 days ago Plants vs. Zombies 2 was made available in the App Stores all over the world. Plants vs. Zombies 2 is now one of the most popular iOS games around. Just how popular is it? According to its recent milestone, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has reached an impressive 25 million downloads.
This sheer number of downloads is not only impressive based on numbers alone. What made this feat even more impressive is the fact that it has already surpassed the lifetime download of the original game. However, it's not that hard to figure out why this particular phenomenon has happened. The original has commanded a price that ranged from $5 to $1 while the sequel is available for free right from the get-go, but it has adopted the freemium business model. While the game does have a wealth of in-app purchases offered, the nice thing about it is that they are not necessary to unlock content and enjoy the game.
