As you may all know, the highly anticipated iPhone event by Apple is only four days away. It is pretty much a given that Apple will announce new iPhone hardware but it is expected that it won't be available for the next two weeks. However, that does not seem to stop some hardcore Apple fans from lining up to get the latest and greatest iPhone. That's right folks, people are already lining up for the iPhone 5S.
To be fair, early lines are often done as some sort of a promotional stunt as opposed to the quick assumption that they are actually devoted fans. It is not uncommon for early campers to receive sponsorships in order to promote brands while they are waiting. However, this time it seems that whoever is responsible for this stunt is now upping the ante with campers already in line even prior to Apple upcoming big announcement.
Two representatives from website SellYourMac arrived at the Fifth Avenue retail store in Manhattan in the hopes of having a two-week campout. To their surprise, they were actually not the first ones who got there because there are already other folks setting up a line at Apple's Fifth Avenue store. Take note that the Fifth Avenue Apple store in Manhattan serves as one of the high-profile launch sites because of its famous design and 24 hour operation.
This begs the question, why can't they just pre-order their iPhones through Apple's online store? I guess there are folks that just want their next-gen iPhone 5S no matter what, despite the fact that technically, the product doesn't exist yet. For the rest of us, we'll just have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us this coming Tuesday. [via MacRumors]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
