The jailbreak scene has liven up lately with hacker Winocm informing us he has been working on the iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak. Things even got more exciting when a video demo was shown that the untethered jailbreak also works on the iPhone 4S. Initially, Winocm curbed everyone's expectations by stating the jailbreak won't be magically supporting all devices and the iPhone 4S GSM barely works. As it turned out, the jailbreak's progress is better than expected because Winocm posted proof of iOS 6.1.4 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 5.
Winocm just posted two screenshots of the iOS 6.1.4 untethered jailbreak by showing Cydia running on iPhone 5. And it gets better because it seems that both the GSM (AT&T) and CDMA (Verizon) versions of the iPhone 5 has been successfully jailbroken. See both screenshots below.
It looks like Winocm's jailbreak is highly legit and one that supports most, if not all devices. Now the iPhone 5 has been successfully jailbroken on iOS 6.1.4, it should be safe to assume that the jailbreak will work on other devices like the iPad 4 and iPad mini. When is the release date? Well, no release dates have been announced yet, or if it will ever be released for public consumption at all. We'll just have to keep our eyes peeled for this one.
This comes as an exciting news indeed because someone other than the Evad3rs dev team is capable of jailbreaking iOS. We'll let you know as soon as there are any development on the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 untethered jailbreak. [via @Winocm]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
