We have previously reported that the developer @winocm has been working on the iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak. He claims he has the binaries and whatnots for the untethered jailbreak. However, in order to manage the community's expectations, he bluntly said “Before you all go out and think I’m magically supporting all devices, the iPhone 4 GSM version barely works. And it’s the only one I made.” With that said, there is no guarantee if Winocm will release the jailbreak to the public or not.
Apparently, Winocm is still pretty much knee deep in the development phase of the iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak. Winocm allowed Jeff Benjamin of iDownloadBlog to install the iOS 6.1.3 untethered, which we formerly thought to work only on iPhone 4 GSM, on his iPhone 4S. So if you want a legitimate proof that Winocm's jailbreak exists, here it is.
While the jailbreak looks promising, Winocm wants you to know that releasing a working jailbreak to the public is not that easy. Just when can we expect the release of iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak? I think Jeff's statement would answer that question best:
It’s a good start, but that’s coming from a lay person whose intelligence when it comes to this stuff reaches a plateau fairly early in the game. Winocm is a ridiculously smart individual, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did eventually release something to the public. I just wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t, either.
Many of you have expressed their interest for the iOS 6.1.3/iOS 6.1.4 untethered jailbreak. Of course, we would love to have the iOS 7 untethered jailbreak instead, but it's very likely that we'll have to wait a long time for that. Having the iOS 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak should help tide us over until the iOS 7 jailbreak touches down.
