As Apple gets ready to start peddling the new iPhone 5s and the plastic-backed iPhone 5c this coming September 20th, a couple of Chinese customers have already started posting unboxing photos of the new iPhones. Apparently, some Chinese residents were lucky enough to receive their pre-ordered units in advance.
Italian technology website HDblog.it has posted numerous unboxing photos of both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The photos show various details of both the devices' packaging. The photo posted above is from the iPhone 5s packaging which seems to be in-sync with leaks that were circulating in the past. According to MacRumors, the photos that were first posted to microblogging site Sina Weibo came from a source at Chinese carrier China Unicom.
The iPhone 5c packaging was also highlighted within the series of photos. Being the low-cost variety, the iPhone 5c comes with a not-so-elegant plastic shell. In addition, there is also a video posted of what seems to be an unboxing video for the iPhone 5c. Apologies in advance since the video looks so muddy and shot in portrait mode.
In another Chinese forum DGtle, another set of photos has been posted. This time, it's for the gold colored iPhone 5s. This unboxing is far more detailed, thanks to the high quality photos posted. Apart from showing the packaging and the device itself in various angles, one of the photos show the actual contents of the iPhone 5s.
Apple will start selling the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in designated launch countries this coming Friday, September 20. While pre-orders for the iPhone 5c has already went live a few days ago, iPhone 5s pre-orders will start early in the morning local time on Friday, hours before the actual in-store availability.
