This year alone, Google has been busy rebranding most of its flagship applications by giving them a fresh coat of paint. Just last week, the search engine giant announced that it will be redesigning Gmail Inbox for both desktop and mobile. This will enable users to browse through their emails by utilizing group tabs. Gmail Inbox for desktop is now in the process of being slowly rolled out to users. However, iOS can now update the Gmail app in order to experience the new Inbox.
The main draw of the updated Gmail app is certainly the new Inbox. With this new feature, you can now group your emails into categories. Once you have launched the app, you will be presented with your Primary Mail, and navigating to your other emails is as simple as tapping into other tabs. Another highlight of the update is the new notifications options. You can now customize your Gmail notifications so you can get notified for all messages, only important messages, or none at all.
What's New in Version Gmail 2.3.14159?
New notifications options: Get notified for all messages, only important messages, or none at all, on a per account basis. Customize these settings from the in-app settings page.
Meet the new inbox: If you've enabled the new inbox, your mail is now grouped into categories so that you can see what's new at a glance and decide which emails you want to read when. Primary mail is shown first and it's easy to access and keep track of email in other categories by opening the menu. Configure this feature by going to Gmail.com on your computer.
In order to update to the latest version of the Gmail app and enjoy these new features, you can either update via the App Store application or you can use the direct link to Gmail's iTunes page below.
