Apart from doing phone-like things on my iPhone, I also mainly use the device for playing music. I find it really convenient that you can access the Music app controls while in the lockscreen just by double-pressing the Home button. However, it's really annoying that you can only access the volume slider and not the seek slider for music playback. You will have to unlock the device and launch the Music app just to scrub the currently playing song. If you share the same sentiment with me, then you should definitely check out the Cydia tweak we have for you today.
LSMusicSeek, made by iOS developer arthur_choung, is a new jailbreak tweak that brings the seek slider to the lockscreen. With this tweak, you will be able to scrub through the currently playing music track right from the lockscreen without the tedium of unlocking the device. However, there is a caveat. LSMusicSeek unfortunately completely replaces the volume slider with the music scrubber. But this isn't really a big deal since you can always use the volume buttons located on the side of your iPhone.
If you think that losing the volume slider is a deal breaker, there is another Cydia tweak called LSScrubbing which places both the seek slider and volume slider to the lockscreen. However, LSScrubbing is a premium app which costs $1.99. If you can deal with losing the volume slider, then LSMusicSeek is a good option, especially when it's a free tweak. Unfortunately, this Cydia tweak only works with the iOS Music app and is incompatible with third-party apps like Spotify, Pandora, or Grooveshark.
LSMusicSeek is a tweak that you simply install and forget as it comes with no options to configure whatsoever. If you are interested in giving this tweak a try, you download LSMusicSeek via the ModMyi repository for FREE. [via ModMyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
