One feature of iOS that most people aren't well-acquainted with is the proximity sensor, which detects things when the iPhone is close to something. So, when you take a call on your iPhone, the screen will automatically black out when the device is brought closer to your face. This prevents the user from accidentally tapping any buttons while on a phone call. However, when the iPhone is not close to you, it will not dim the display. So, there is the chance that you'll tap a button accidentally, which can be downright annoying. Here's a jailbreak tweak that fixes that.
There is a new jailbreak tweak in Cydia which is called DimInCall by iOS developer snakeninny. The core function of this tweak is that it will enable the iPhone to dim its display, regardless of whether or not the device is close to your face or not. This tweak pretty much eliminates any possibility of accidentally tapping any buttons which undoubtedly gives a much better call experience. Should you want to view the iPhone's display in the middle of the call, you simply press the Home or sleep button and the screen will light up manually.
DimInCall does come with a preferences pane which enables you to configure a few options. There's the all-important toggle to enable or disable the tweak. Other options include the ability to enable/disable Dim with Microphone, Dim with Speaker, and Dim with Headphone. There is also a feature that will have the iPhone vibrate whenever your call connects, effectively informing you that your call has made it through (since you can't see the screen while it's dimmed).
DimInCall is a nice little tweak that eliminates a potential annoyance to your calling experience. However, this tweak is not free as it costs $1.99 in Cydia. To use DimInCall, you must have an iPhone running in iOS 5 or later. [via Modmyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
