Aside from providing top-of-the-line products, Apple is also known for ranking the highest when it comes to customer satisfaction. Consumer Reports is an American magazine that publishes buying guides as well as reviews and comparisons of services and products. So if you want to know what consumers think about a certain product, you would want to turn to Consumer Reports. The magazine just announced that in their latest reader survey of computer technical support, Apple came out on top and even pulled the impressive feat of besting their own scores last year.
In our latest reader survey of computer technical support, Apple bested its own scores from last year's survey and walloped other brand-name computer manufacturers.
The company scored far higher than the other big companies for the elements that make for successful online and phone support: ease of contacting staff, clarity of advice, technical knowledge, patience, and time for follow-up.
The Genius Bar, the Cupertino company's in-house technical support service, was rated highly for both phone and online support. This means that whatever way the readers asked for tech support - whether it's via phone, online, or in person, Apple was able to successfully solve more computer problems. With Apple comfortably taking the lead, there is still a lot of room for improvement in the tech support area. As stated in the report, "24 to 40 percent of respondents who sought phone or online help from makers of Windows-based computers said the staff's patience, knowledge, or clarity was fair at best."
