Once in a while, there are jailbreak tweaks that warrant the community’s attention, even if they are yet to be released. Some of these special cases is when certain a certain well-known developer is working on something new or the Cydia tweak or app is just promising in its own right. This is certainly the case with a previous hit tweak, Auxo. Now, we have another tweak I know most of you will love to keep under your radar. The name of this tweak is Velox.
Last week, we featured a jailbreak tweak called MusicWidget, which enables users to access some of the most basic functions of the Music app via the app icon. Now the developers of Velox tweak decided to take things a lot further by incorporating this very idea of not just with a single app, but with some of the most popular apps iOS has to offer. The idea is you need to perform a swipe gesture on the app’s icon right from the Home screen. You can then access certain features of that particular app without actually launching it. If you use another swipe gesture, you can view the notifications as well.
To really appreciate just how awesome the Velox tweak is, I suggest you watch the video preview below by iDownloadBlog’s Jeff:
Was that an awesome jailbreak tweak or what? The idea behind Velox is so simple, yet so ingenious and of course, as you can see, the execution of the tweak itself is so slick. The developers of Velox will release the tweak’s APIs, so that other developers may be able to create add-ons for existing iOS apps.
Velox tweak is definitely a promising one and I can see it reaching the level of popularity that Auxo enjoyed (same cryptic name too). Rightfully so, because this tweak is just too cool to pass up. Velox is slated for release for about two weeks or so and will be sold for $1.99. A fair price for a tweak that’s as promising as this. We’ll surely let you know once Velox tweak hits the Cydia store.
