iPhone 5S Will Drop Q3 2013, Featuring Upgraded Processor & Camera

If you have been keeping an eye on the world of tech, then you'll know that Samsung has already shown their trump card for this year, the Galaxy S IV. Now, everyone is wondering what Apple has in store for the remainder of the year. We all know that a new iPhone is coming this year, but which one? The most prevalent rumors is that the Cupertino company will release an update to the iPhone 5, which is believed to be the iPhone 5S. According to a new report, the iPhone 5S is set to be released this third quarter of the year with some expected upgrades.

iPhone 5S

This new report came from the DigiTimes, a publication known for reporting tons of Apple rumors, although their track record leaves much to be desired. As reported by DigiTimes:

Components for the next-generation iPhone will start shipping at the end of May with the new smartphone to have a chance of showing up in the third quarter, according to sources from the upstream supply chain. The sources pointed out that if the components are all shipped smoothly, manufacturers should be able to deliver the new iPhones to retail channels in 1-2 weeks for them to be ready to sell in the third quarter.

DigiTimes added that the upcoming iPhone won't be a major upgrade to the current gen iPhone. Instead, like the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 4, the new iPhone will be a slightly enhanced version of the iPhone 5. What are these slight enhancements? The iPhone 5S is said to feature a more powerful processor chip and an improved camera. According to some reports, despite the fact that the iPhone 5S will only have slight enhancements, it will have at least one "killer feature." Back when the iPhone 4S was released, it's killer app was of course, Siri.

As mentioned, the iPhone 5S is expected to drop this 3rd quarter, which seems to fall in line with last year's iPhone 5 cycle. [via iJailbreak]

I had iPhone 3GS a my first apple phone and few month later iPhone 4 was released which was fine and had totally different features. One year later I got upgrade my 3GS to 4S which was cool as it was way faster. Since iPhone 5 came out  I got totally disappointed with the features Apple is offering as Android devices (which I generally don’t really like) getting ahead with the new technologies. Even NFC… I know many iPhone users who start changing their pfones to Sony and Nexus.. A bit pitty as I really like iOS. So far will stay with my 4S and after summer going to decide which device to choose for  next.

If Apple is getting into this defensive mode of releasing just another one of those already aged out iPhone, I will certainly not be buying one. Apple should stop getting into this defensive mode and come out with some major changes. At this rate it will be iPhone 5S this year with a new processor and bigger ram, next year will be iPhone 6 with maybe slightly bigger screen something this is more of an evolution than a revolution.I am still happy with my 4S. I should stop getting about this iPhone stuff.iPad mini 2 will not have a retina display and may 10% thinner. iPad mini 3 will have improved hardware…oh come on Apple!
