Everyone in the jailbreak community is excited with just one thing: the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. In case you missed our last news, the new jailbreak solution is Evasi0n, which was cleverly derived from the new jailbreak collective Evad3rs, which has been composed of Planetbeing, Pimskeks, Pod2g and MuscleNerd. How close are we to the release of the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak? Well, according to the official Evasi0n website, the release is very, very close.
If you're going to go visit the Evasi0n website, there is a handy progress bar allowing visitors to see the development phase of the new jailbreak. Currently, it's at 80%. For quite some time, Evad3rs has been conducting thorough beta testing of the jailbreak for various operating systems, like OS X, Windows and Linux. As of now, it's said the group is now beta testing the Linux version, which is certainly good news for those using the open source software. With that said, you can expect all three versions will be available once the jailbreak drops.
As we have mentioned in our previous reports, the likely release date for the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak is tomorrow, February 3 which happens to be the Super Bowl. Depending on your time zone, it might be late Saturday or even early Monday. The next step for the Evad3rs group is extended beta testing, and no one has any idea how long it will take. For now, take comfort the jailbreak is already 80% done. We're guessing after the beta tests, the group will iron out the kinks and ensure the jailbreak release will be a relatively bug-free experience.
As of now, all we can do is wait. Don't fret because the jailbreak is coming, and after waiting for so long, the worst that could happen is to get a jailbreak half-done. Make sure you tune in to our blog for updates on the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
