Evasi0n 6.0-6.1 Untether Updated to Fix Long Reboot Issues & Weather Bug, Get it From Cydia Now!

While everyone is glad for the iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak, it is not without its flaws. We have received comments from using the new Evasi0n jailbreak tool has caused frustrating problems. Perhaps the most prominent issue is the long reboots. Users have reported getting stuck in the Apple logo. I uggest users do a force reset, as Pod2g advised, but now it seems a real fix has been deployed by the Evad3rs team.

Evasi0n Untether Update

Planetbeing tweeted a new Cydia package update for Evasi0n is now available for download. This update aims to fix the long reboot issue many people are experiencing. Apart from fixing the long reboots, the update will also fix the Weather app bug. This bug crashes the weather app as soon as it is launched and even made the app appear on the iPad. As for me, my stock Weather app worked fine with no issues at all. However, for those who are still experiencing the Weather bug and didn't have the chance to use the manual patch floating in the web, then you should install this Evasi0n update package.

If you're going to launch Cydia, you should get two new notifications in the Changes tab. One of these changes is for the Evasi0n 6.0-6.1 untether (version 0.2-3) and the other one is an update for the UIKitTools. If you're not getting the notifications, go the Changes tab and hit the Refresh button. Both are essential updates that'll improve your iOS 6 untethered experience, so there's no reason for you to not update.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are experiencing issues after applying both the Evasi0n 6.0-6.1 untether and UIKitTools, it was discovered AppSync might be the culprit.

MuscleNerd Tweet AppSync

AppSync didn't cause weather app problem, but it prevents today's fix from working. Also likely breaks iCloud apps. Piracy has costs.

The only way to fix this, of course, is to uninstall AppSync.

Planetbeing Tweet AppSync

People are reporting uninstalling AppSync AND rebooting are solving their issues. YMMV.

Planetbeing Tweet AppSync1

Try having AppSync uninstalled and deleting com.apple.mobile.installation.plist, com.apple.LaunchServices-045.csstore and rebooting

There you go! Users in Twitter have been saying one can reinstall AppSync right after applying the Evasi0n untether updates. It is imperative you uninstall AppSync first before applying the patch.

Let us know in the comments if these updates have solved your reboot and Weather app issues with the Evasi0n jailbreak.
