While the Evasi0n jailbreak tool gets the job done, there are still some lingering issues. Fortunately, the Evad3rs team is working round the clock to bring us a relatively bug-free untethered experience. A few days ago, Evasi0n updated in Cydia, in order to fix the long reboot issues and Weather app bug many people are experiencing. Now, another update for Evasi0n has been released.
Evad3rs has brought Evasi0n to version 1.2, which is designed to once and for all disable over-the-air (OTA) updates and to correct issues with time zones. If you have jailbroken your device using Evasi0n, you will know you must update to iOS 6.x via IPSW restore as opposed to using the OTA updates. Since OTA updates don't work on jailbroken devices, Evad3rs has seen fit to completely remove OTA updates, so your device won't prompt you to update anymore. As for the timezone fix, it seems to be a fairly non-widespread issue, but this is definitely a great update for those having problems with their time zones.
It is quite possible this update will be the last one for the jailbreak for a long while. Most problems regarding the tool have been worked out, unless new ones are reported. If you are apprehensive jailbreaking your iOS device for the fear that the jailbreak might be unstable, don't because the jailbreak is now fairly stable and most widespread issues have been dealt with.
In order to update to the latest version of Evasi0n, you can launch Cydia and tap the Changes button. The update request should be there. As an alternative to new jailbreakers, you can use the download links provided below.
