French blogger Johan informed our friends at iSpazio about a bug in the Music app he discovered with his iPhone 5 that causes the application to crash immediately. Here is how he describes the Music app bug, and when it occurs.
The iOS 6 bug causes surprising behavior detected while listening to a song with the pre-installed Music app. Interestingly, the bug causes the Apple app to crash, and as you may already have guessed, will immediately stop playing the track.
As you can see from the video (below), the app crashes when you launch the Music app. It starts playing a song, but if you tap twice on the cover to view the list of songs from the same album and immediately rotate the device to enter landscape mode and repeat these steps once more, the song will be interrupted and the application will crash.
This obviously isn't a critical bug, but it is a bug Apple has to deal with. As the video demonstrates, it does happen each time you perform the above steps twice in a row at speed.
I don't know whether this is an iOS 6.0.1 bug or whether it is specific to iPhone 5: I tried the same steps on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1 beta 2, but it worked smoothly. Anyways, let us know if you found this malfunction in the Music app, and on what device.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
