While we count down the minutes until Apple's iPad mini event, 9to5Mac received information about the smaller iPad's name: it will be called the iPad Mini. As their sources report, Apple will also sell Smart Covers for the 7.85-inch device and they will be available in red, dark gray, green, light gray, pink and blue.
Also, during the iPad mini event we expect Apple to introduce a 13-inch Retina Macbook Pro, and here's the specs we've all been eager to find out about:
- 2.5 GHz, 128GB of Flash storage, 8GB of RAM
- 2.5 GHz, 256 GB of Flash storage, 8GB of RAM
- 2.9 GHz, 512GB of Flash storage, 8GB of RAM
But this isn't all: 9to5Mac was the first one to report the upcoming Mac mini tech specs as well, which will launch alongside the iPad mini today. The good news is that the new models will indeed feature upgraded RAM options.
- 2.5 GHz dual-core, 4GB RAM, 500GB Hard drive
- 2.3 GHz quad-core, 4GB RAM, 1TB Hard drive
- Server: 2.3 GHz quad-core 4GB of RAM, 2TB Hard drive
In other words, we are going to see three new Mac Mini models hitting the Apple Stores right after the event with updated processors: the base model will receive a 2.5GHz dual core, while the higher end model will get a 2.3GHz quad-core processor.
Live streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.
