The eagerly awaited iPad mini pre-order stock was completely sold-out by this morning. If you are trying to access the Apple Store hoping to get your iPad mini by November 2, then we have bad news for you. You will have to either wait in line at launch day or wait for another two weeks until the device becomes available.
While the white iPad mini sold out in the first 20 minutes of availability, the black version held on a bit longer in the US online Apple Store. However, it didn't last too much longer than the white one. Availability began to drop over the weekend, when the shipping dates for the entry level Wi-Fi only iPad mini moved to 14 days. The next two (32GB and 64GB) models have quickly followed that trend, and now all versions of the Wi-Fi only iPad mini models are only available for shipping in two weeks, although this is just an estimate.
Unfortunately, for those who are waiting for the cellular version, we don't have any information except that 9to5Mac readers reported that a couple days ago they received word of a November 23 shipping date. Apple, however, is silent at this moment as Phil Schiller said the cellular versions would ship a couple of weeks after the Wi-Fi version, meaning we may have to wait a while until they will become available. To be more precise, Apple says mid-November for the US and according to the Canadian Apple Store, the device will arrive in late November, which could easily mean the end of the month.
The official iPad mini release date is November 2, so if you want to grab one, you may want to secure a place in the line that will begin forming this Friday in front of Apple Stores. The stores will begin sales at 8:00AM.
Furthermore, the updated, fourth generation iPad will also launch on that same November 2nd date with a similar schedule: Wi-Fi versions now, and the Wi-Fi+cellular models delayed until mid-late November.
