As of this moment, there should be a good deal of Apple users who have updated their respective devices to iOS 6. But as we all know when it comes to updating to a new firmware, there are bound to be things which are going to be compromised. For stock iOS users, updating to the latest version of iOS poses no problems but the same can't be said for those who choose to liberate their devices via jailbreaking. A firmware update is sure to break any sort of jailbreak solution you have in your device. With that said, a lot of you are probably wondering if there is someone who's working on an untethered iOS 6 jailbreak. Well, apparently not the famed iOS hacker Pod2g.
Right off the bat, iOS 6 can be jailbroken although there are several limitations such as the fact that it only works on A4-based devices, it doesn't install Cydia, and it is a tethered solution. An experienced jailbreak user knows that an untethered solutions is always preferable. So what's the current situation regarding the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak? As of now, there are no individuals or teams who have committed to supply the untethered solution. There are persons however that are widely expected to take the help when it comes to situation such as this. One such person is Pod2g. However, Pod2g just tweeted that he is not working on the iOS 6 Jailbreak.
About the iOS 6 JB : I'm not working on it ATM, sorry. I'm focusing on my job. Maybe discussions at #WWJC will generate ideas (?).
The tweet plainly states that Pod2g is currently not working on cracking the iOS 6 security but instead keeping himself busy with his day job. In case you don't know, Pod2g is the brilliant hacker who's responsible for the very first untethered jailbreak for the iOS 5. On top of that, he also made significant contribution to the development of an untethered jailbreak for A5 devices which finally jailbroken iOS 5 into the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. However, he is not discounting his involvement in the future. JailbreakCon is just around the corner and he is sure to be there and the event might just help him generate some ideas.
Last week, there have been some exciting news on the jailbreak front as Chpwn showed to the world that the iPhone 5 has been jailbroken. But there was no indication if the said jailbreak is tethered or untethered. While that is certainly an exciting news, Pod2g's announcement will most likely slow down things a little bit. Of course, it is within his right to get on with his life especially when it concerns his very career. Hopefully though, we hope that Pod2g finds some free time to work on the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak because his input will surely make things progress a lot quicker. We'll just have to wait and see if there would be any favorable development during and after JailbreakCon.
So for those who are still enjoying iOS 5.1.1 with their untethered jailbreaks, we suggest that you hold off on updating until a good and stable iOS 6 jailbreak comes.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
