The announcement for the upcoming next generation iPhone 5 is simply less than a day away. However, it seems that rumors, particularly leaks regarding the iPhone 5 simply won't stop. Despite Apple's brand of secrecy with regards to their unreleased / unannounced products, the tech world still managed to witness several leaks of the next-gen iPhone. However, considering that hype that each Apple product generates, this is hardly surprising. There have been plenty of dummy models seen floating around Europe and of course, Asia just last week. But now, it seems that those non-working replicas has finally made it into U.S. shores, and with detailed pictures to boot.
Based on the dummy iPhone 5 that is been in circulation over the web, if the purported design turns out to be accurate, the new iPhone will feature a metallic backplate and a two-tone design which is indicated by the two glass stripes at the top and bottom of the device. The rumors regarding the iPhone 5 having a two-tone design has been around for quite some time, so this somehow gives credence to those rumors. The iPhone 5 is said to be almost identical to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, the major difference is that it will feature a 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, miniaturized dock connector, and relocated 3.5mm headset jack at the bottom.
When the iPhone 4S was revealed last year, there was certainly a cloud of disappointment that loomed over those who have been expecting a new, redesigned iPhone. But now, according to iMore, the dummy that has been floating around will not be radically different to the iPhone which will be announced tomorrow. Small details such as the pentalobe screws and proper typeset branding are just some of the obvious difference to the final design. But of course, the only way to know for sure is to watch the iPhone 5 event which will be taking place in San Francisco tomorrow. iMore has managed to snag more high quality photos of the dummy iPhone 5 which is created based on what the rumors have been indicating. Check out the detailed pictures below:
Apart from the improvements stated previously, the iPhone 5 is said to include more power under the hood such as having more memory and a quad-core A6 processor. Besides that, it will also include an all-new improved camera. Based on the leaks so far, there have been some positive response regarding the new iPhone's aluminum uni-body, although not everyone is a fan of the purported two-tone design as it has received mixed reactions.
It would be interesting to see what Apple has in store for us in tomorrow's event. Based on these leaks, somehow the finesse and classy design of the iPhone 4/4S was somehow preserved. The upgraded hardware and specifications are already a given, and so is the upgraded screen real estate, especially considering that rival phone companies such as Samsung continues to release large-screened devices. If this turns out to be accurate, the iPhone 5 will become the most-changed iPhone in history. [via iMore]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
