At this point in time, it is quite sure that millions of people are eager to know more details about Apple's iPhone 5 (6th generation). Of course there is no shortage of rumors and speculations regarding the next-generation iPhone. There have been rumors that the much anticipated device is now under production (while there's a report that contradicts this). And now a new report surfaces that allegedly pinned down the exact iPhone 5 release date.
A French blog site App4phone.fr, claims that the next iPhone will be released on September 21st, a Friday. It will feature that widely rumored larger screen and 19-pin dock connector. The source of the information? This is according to a Chinese source which is one of the main manufacturers of Apple accessories (one of three largest factories in Hong Kong). The info allegedly came straight from the Cupertino company itself which includes a few specifics and the actual release date.
Well, the stated release date isn't really that far-fetched considering that Apple released the iPhone 4S on October 14th last year. Apple tends to stick with their release cycle but the September 21st release is viable enough as it is quite close to last year's release date. One can speculate that Apple just wants to get the iPhone 5 into more people's hands as the holidays approach or perhaps the company is taking the pressure from the success of other smartphone competitors.
But then again, there is simply no way to verify this information. The French blog site doesn't exactly have a known track record when it comes to Apple rumors, so it is easy to take this rumor with a grain of salt. Until Apple actually sends out the invitation for the event, it's safe to say that all iPhone 5 release date given before that are mere assumptions.
