There is no doubt that jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch yields so many benefits and added functionalities that make the process all worth it. One of the best benefits of jailbreaking is that it allows the user to customize pretty much all aspects of iOS. Here is a new jailbreak tweak that will enable you to customize another facet of your iOS device.
A new jailbreak tweak called LabelAbove by iOS developer q0rtex has been released on Cydia. This tweak will enable the user to move icons name to top as opposed to below the icon which is the default configuration. On top of that, the app icons are also slightly pushed downward, so they will line up correctly on the Home screen's grid. This is a very lightweight tweak which doesn't feature any options to configure. Simply download the tweak and install it via Cydia and you should see the effects shortly. It is unfortunate though that there is no option to toggle the tweak ON or OFF. If you want to revert your icon labels to normal, you will need to uninstall the tweak in Cydia.
As you can see, this tweak merely changes the appearance of your icon labels. It is simply a cosmetic change and it doesn't offer anything beyond that. But still, if you are someone who likes to change things up, then LabelAbove should be a good tweak to have. After all this is a free tweak so you've got nothing to lose should you try it out.
In order to download and install LabelAbove, a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch is needed. Here are some tutorials that you may use. For users who are currently in iOS 5.1.1 and want the latest untethered jailbreak, feel free to use the following guides: Absinthe | Redsn0w | Sn0wbreeze | Cinject.
