Celeste, The Bluetooth App, Will Support iOS 5.1.1 Soon!

Are you someone who is familiar with the jailbreak app Celeste? In case you don't know it is an app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad which brings full Bluetooth functionality to the device which means you will be able to easily send photos, songs, notes, videos, contacts and more to any Bluetooth capable device. It is a great app but it is being limited by the fact that it is not compatible with the newer firmware versions. Fortunately, according to the development team behind Celeste, Cocoanuts, this add-on is going to return and in iOS 5.1.1 nonetheless.

That’s right, Cocoanuts just announced that Celeste Beta will finally return and it will be compatible with iOS 5.1.1 which has the latest untethered jailbreak as of now. Granted that this is only the beta version, we can only assume that the official release will not be that far off. While Celeste is indeed considered a good tweak all in all, it has one very glaring weakness. It depends on libraries that are updated several months after the release of a new operating system version. The app is simply not updated as much as its users want it to. After all, this app costs a good deal of money, so constant updates are reasonably expected.

So this is definitely a good news for those who have bought this famous Bluetooth plugin. Cocoanuts is going to release a private beta build soon enough which will be compatible with iOS 5.1.1. Celeste is available in Cydia under the ModMyi repo for $9.99. It requires iOS 4.2 or higher. We'll be sure to let you know once Celeste for iOS 5.1.1 becomes available.
