The jailbreak community is always a treasure trove of unique ideas and mechanics when it comes to tweaking and enhancing the iOS experience. Some of the stellar ideas of jailbreak developers are even adopted by Apple officially into the iOS. And today, we have another awesome jailbreak tweak for you that were quite sure you'll find to be quite cool.
The feature jailbreak tweak for today is called Unfold by Jonas Gessner. This jailbreak tweak is actually an iOS unlock concept at first which was created by Anton Kudin. Upon picking on the admittedly brilliant concept work of Kudin, Gessner took the liberty of making the iOS unlock concept into reality and thus Unfold came into place. And now you can download this neat jailbreak tweak from Cydia.
So what exactly is the function of this particular jailbreak tweak? Like popular tweaks like Barrel, Unfold provides users with a different way to unlock their iOS device. It basically provides a new animation for unlocking. As the name of the tweak implies, the animation looks like you are folding the screen like a paper when the swipe gesture is invoked. The slide to unlock text will be replaced by "Fold to Unlock". The new animation is very smooth and the transition to the home screen is flawless. If you have other lockscreen tweaks and apps, don't fret because Unfold is compatible with major ones like IntelliscreenX, LockInfo, Bulletin and so on.
Unfold is now available from Cydia under the BigBoss repo and the best part is, you can download it for FREE. Head over to Cydia now and give it a try. Unfortunately, this tweak is not compatible with iPad as of now.
So you can use Unfold, a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch is required. Luckily, we have the tutorials that you need. For iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users in iOS 5.0.1, you will need to download the Absinthe Jailbreak Tool and follow these tutorials: To jailbreak your iDevice on Mac using Absinthe, refer to our Jailbreak iPhone 4S Guide for Mac or for Windows users, you can read our Jailbreak iPhone 4S Guide for Windows.
