Blizzard Entertainment is certainly one of the biggest names in the videogame industry with widely influential series of games such as Starcraft, Warcraft and Diablo under their belt. If you consider yourself to be a hardcore PC gamer, then there is a good chance that you have listed Diablo 3 as one of your most highly anticipated games for PC this year. Now that the game is two weeks shy of its much awaited release date, Blizzard has released a TV spot for Diablo 3 that is made to inspire more excitement for the eager fans, not that they need it anyway.
The TV spot for Diablo 3 was supposed to be shown alongside an episode of Family Guy but Blizzard took the liberty of placing the trailer on their website for gaming folks to enjoy. Check out the short but sweet trailer below:
As you can see from the commercial, rather than demonstrating some gameplay segments, the trailer is purely CGI which looks amazing, typical Blizzard quality that we all know and love. The trailer shows brief moments from the storyline of Diablo 3 with the tagline "Evil is Back". They didn't bother to show gameplay because we assume everyone has seen it either through past footages or though the game's beta itself. This is after all a game that benefits from widespread media coverage.
It has been almost twelve years since the release of Diablo 2, so one can say that fans have waited long enough. Blizzard is known for tweaking their game until they are absolutely perfect and in order to uphold the ridiculously high standards that the studio is famous for, hence the long development cycle for each game. Diablo 3 was announced in 2008. Now just mere two weeks and gamers can finally sink their teeth in Blizzard's next opus. Diablo 3 will hit the stores on May 15.
