It has been a while and we haven't seen much development with regards to the jailbreak scene, especially concerning the iOS 5.1 jailbreak. Earlier, pod2g updated the jailbreak community regarding the jailbreak's progress and said that it is going to take a while before a general release is possible. And now another update has been released with regards to the iOS 5.1 jailbreak and you can treat it as a good news.
Famed jailbreak hacker and exploit finder Pod2g just announced on Twitter that his team has already found all the required exploits which could pave the way for a new jailbreak solution. Read pod2g's tweet below:
News: we have all exploits required to do a new jailbreak. I'm working on bypassing ASLR at bootup.

For those who are not in the know, ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) is a security protocol that was introduced by Apple on the iPhone OS and iOS 4.3 which involves randomizing data on the RAM in order to make it more difficult for exploit procedures from overrunning the system. Now with iOS 5.1, pod2g and the rest of the team will have to circumvent the ASLR during the boot process so that the jailbreak can work properly.
But before you get all psyched up, another famed hacker Chpwn, in an attempt to manage everyone's expectations, tweeted a friendly reminder that even though exploits are found, this doesn't automatically imply that a new jailbreak will be available soon. It might even take months before we could see a working version.
Remember: just because all the exploits are found doesn't mean that a jailbreak exists — it's likely months away from first working at all.

But still, one has to take this as a good news and it is certainly good to know that the iOS 5.1 jailbreak is making progress. At least you are rest assured that your friendly neighborhood hackers are doing their best to bring us iOS 5.1 jailbreak solution. [via iSpazio]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
