When it comes to mobile web browsers, it is a fact that Dolphin Browser is one of the most recognizable names out there. Dolphin was initially exclusive to the Android where it was proven to be quite a hit, but it was eventually ported to iOS where it is now enjoying more than ten million downloads. Good news for fans of Dolphin on the iOS because this feature-packed browser gets a lot more better with more features.
Now at version 4.0, one of the most notable addition to this version of Dolphin is the Sonar feature. Basically with Sonar, the user will be able to use Dolphin only by using his voice. Dolphin will listen as you search your favorite search engine, access and post on Facebook, bookmark your favorite website and more using only your voice. In order to activate sonar, you simply need to shake or tap the mic icon. Keep in mind though that Sonar is an in-app purchase. Here's a video that you might want to check out.
Along with Sonar, there are other features that have been added into the mix as well. We got to see the return of the URL keyboard, the ability to change search engines and font sizes, night mode, and saved images will now be stored directly in the photo album. Aside from that, there is the usual performance and stability tweaks.
The iPad version Dolphin HD, has been updated as well, which is now version 4.1. Some of the new things to expect are the ability to restore opened tabs along with bug fixes and stability improvements. Sadly, there is still no support for Retina Display for the new iPad.
For fans of Dolphin, updating to the latest version should be a no-brainer. For those who are looking for a good alternative to Safari, then you should definitely give Dolphin browser a try.
