Apple is Fixing Its Activation Servers, Backup Your SAM Unlock Activation Tickets Now!

A few days ago, we brought to you a comprehensive SAM unlock tutorial that allows you to activate your iPhone. The method is quite easy to perform and it merely requires you to jailbreak your device and download SAM. Plus, it even works on all iPhone models and on iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 and 5.1. The SAM unlock method was fairly effective but it seems that the party had to be cut short because Apple is reportedly fixing their activation servers.

SAM Unlock
The news came from iPhone Dev-Team's frontman, MuscleNerd through his official Twitter account. According to him, Apple seems to be fixing their activation servers as of this moment. He also added that trying the SAM method on new SIMs will be a hit or miss and the time will come that it will stop working altogether.

But it looks like all hope is not lost yet because if you have managed to unlock activate using SAM, you can still use your activation tickets for future use. So MuscleNerd highly recommends that you should manually backup your tickets via Redsn0w, which proved to be highly essential to the unlock process.

As with pretty much all software exploits, it is only good until the next patches or fixes roll out and now it seems that the SAM unlock method has seen its better days. So as MuscleNerd recommends, if you have successfully unlocked your iPhone using SAM, it would be a good idea to backup your activation tickets using Redsn0w. As for those who have yet to try the method, you are pretty much out of luck.

Were you able to successfully unlock activate your iPhone using SAM? Does the SAM unlock method still work for you?

I was trying to unlock my iPhone 4 by SAM. What should I do If my carrier is not in the SAM activation list? Can I use just manual activation with my unique IMSI number?

The methods described for the SAM unlock will not work anymore since Apple has fixed their servers. Sorry. :(

    Hi there,
I unlocked my iphone by Sam without back up everything and after that I change another sim now i cannot use the old sim any more. It’s like the beginning, just said “no service”. Do you have any way for me to return to use my first sim that I unlocked by sam. Thanks
