How to Take Screenshot in Mac OS X Without Any Software? [Tutorial]

Screenshot Shortcuts That Place Picture on Your Desktop

Command-Shift-3:

This keyboard shortcut will take a screenshot of your entire screen, meaning that everything you seen on your screen is what will be in the picture. The picture will be loaded onto your desktop.

Command-Shift-4, then select an area:

Use this shortcut for when you want to select a specific area of the screen to photograph. After pressing this combination, you can let go. You will then have a different cursor. Drag a box onto what you want to take a picture of and let go. The screenshot will be loaded onto your desktop.

Command-Shift-4, then space, then click a window:

This is similar to the previous one. Use this if you want to take a screenshot of an entire window. It works great if you do not want to show your entire desktop in the background. The picture will be loaded onto your desktop.
