The iOS is indeed a great mobile operating system, there I said it. It may be of a closed nature but there is no denying that it works well, smooth, stable and highly secure. But the iOS is far from perfect and it does some annoyances in the interface that we wish Apple would rectify. But alas, this is why we jailbreak our device. Jailbreaking gives users the option to further enhance the iOS experience by either adding new features or removing annoyances. Now we have a jailbreak tweak for you that addresses the latter.
One of the main annoyances of the iOS is certainly the keyboard getting in the way when you are trying to read a text message or an email. It takes about half of the screen, making it occasionally difficult to read the text especially long ones after typing. If you are someone who's annoyed by this, then it is highly recommended that you install this new, free jailbreak tweak.
The featured tweak for today is called Pull to Dismiss by famed third party developer Ryan Petrich who's responsible for great jailbreak tweaks such as Activator, Action Menu, and DietBar. So you know that you are in for some quality tweaks. Pull to Dismiss basically allows you to pull down your keyboard in order to get it out of the way by simply dragging it a good half-inch above it. It works so well that it could be mistaken as a native iOS feature. Although it is worth noting that this feature is not only available to the Messages app only. What this tweak does is make the feature available throughout the iOS, not only with stock iOS apps. It even works in landscape mode
As you can see, this jailbreak tweak is a very simple idea but it does add a good functionality to the iOS. And best of all, this tweak is available for free. Just head over to Cydia and download it under the BigBoss repo. This requires iOS 3.2 or newer and works great with iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak.
Before you can use this Pull to Dismiss, you need to have your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch jailbroken. For those who have installed the iOS 4.3.5 IPSW, you can use our Redsn0w tethered guide. But if it is an untethered jailbreak is what you are after, go ahead and download the iOS 4.3.3 IPSW and restore. Then use one of the following tools: Redsn0w / Sn0wbreeze / PwnageTool / JailbreakMe. For the latest iOS 5.0.1 firmware however, refer to our iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak guide. [via ModMyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
