It is hard to deny that one of the best features of iOS 5 is the inclusion of the new notification system called Notification Center. And after iOS 5 has been jailbroken, developers everywhere have realized its potential for added functionalities and thus various Notification Center tweaks and widgets came raining down. Now we have another tweak for the Notification Center that I'm sure some of you will find to be useful.
If you are an iOS device power user, chances are high that you can easily clutter your Notification Center with all the notifications from many different applications. In order to dismiss a notification, you will need to tap on it, select X and then tap clear. If somehow you find that to be cumbersome, then here's a jailbreak tweak for you that's called Lorem. Basically, what this tweak does is that it enable the users to simply swipe away notifications in order to dismiss them. That's quite an intuitive way to dismiss notifications right? Well, not exactly.
Lorem has some glaring flaws that makes it quite unusable. Because you must be touching the actual notifications in order to swipe it, it can become difficult trying to navigate around the notification. You will have to carefully select empty spaces and headers before you can scroll up or down the notification panel. So those who wants to quickly navigate their notifications would find the presence of the tweak to be annoying. There are also reports that it doesn't work with IntelliscreenX which is a bit of a downer.
Overall, Lorem is an interesting jailbreak tweak but it needs to be polished more because as it stands, it can potentially annoy users instead of helping them make their iOS experience more intuitive. Hopefully the author updates this tweak in order to address the issues that surrounds it.
Before you can download and install Lorem, you will obviously need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Lucky for you, we have the tutorials that you need.
