It has been quite a long wait but it is finally here ladies and gentlemen, the much awaited jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The tool is called GreenPois0n Absinthe by the Chronic-Dev Team. And what's even better is that this tool will provide an untethered jailbreak for both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
Apparently, the earlier versions of the tool have some problems but it was now addressed with the latest version, which is Absinthe v0.2. This version aims to the fix the "no reboot after activating VPN/tapping Absinthe icon" according to PlanetBeing. Apart from that, it also addresses the white icons on the Springboard after the jailbreak. The legendary jailbreak hacker also advises that if users still see the white icons after the jailbreak, they should just install an application from Cydia to fix the issue. If Absinthe somehow crashes, just reboot your device and give it a try again.
According to p0sixninja, the A5 jailbreak tool Absinthe uses the same jailbreak exploit that Corona uses and "as well as five others". Check out the supported devices and firmware versions below:
- iPhone 4S | 5.0 (9A334)
- iPhone 4S | 5.0.1 (9A405)
- iPhone 4S | “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)
- iPad2 | 5.0.1 (9A405)
So if you are someone who has been waiting for the jailbreak and will be benefiting from it, please consider donating to the persons and groups involved in making this jailbreak possible as it is the best way that you can show your support.
