It is no secret that we have been getting quite a lot of rumors, predictions and speculations about the next-generation iPad. If rumors were to be trusted, the iPad 3 is set to be announced this coming March, which makes sense especially when Apple announced and launched the iPad 2 back in March last year. But according to a new report, the introduction of the iPad 3 might be closer than we think.
The report came from Japanese blog Macotakara, where they cited two sources, one within the Asian supply chain and the other from the United States. According to the sources, the next-gen iPad will be introduced in an Apple media event which will be taking place in February. Macotakara adds that if the iPad 3 is indeed introduced during the last week of February, then there is a good chance that it will still not be made available by the time mid-March comes. Along with the announcement of the iPad 3, the iOS 5.1 will also be launched during the media event.
Previously, we have brought to you a possible media event by Apple which will be taking place during the last week of January. Although in that particular report, it is said that no new hardware will be unveiled. But of course, it is possible that Apple may have changed its mind. Previous reports indicate that the iPad 3 will be sporting a new quad core processor, iPhone 4S-like camera, high-resolution display, slightly-thicker form factor and with no design overhaul.
We'll keep an eye out for more news about the iPad 3 which will surely come in droves for the coming months. [via ModMyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
