If you consider yourself to be a bit of a casual gamer, then chances are high that you have already done your share of bird-flinging-against-evil-pigs in Rovio's Angry Birds. There is no doubt about the popularity of Angry Birds which we have seen to be ported in pretty much all platforms that are known to mankind. And don't get me started on the plethora of merchandise that are sold in order to capitalize on the simple yet highly addictive game. What I'm trying to communicate is that Angry Birds is very popular and Rovio is now looking to bring Angry Birds on Facebook.
Rovio has created a new trailer specifically for this special launch of Angry Birds on Facebook and it is happening on the Valentine's Day nonetheless. According to the studio, the Facebook version won't be exactly like the mobile versions that many people have grown to love. According to Rovio CEO Mikael Hed, the Facebook port will have completely new aspects and word on the street is that it will be bringing the spotlight to the pigs as well. You can watch the trailer below:
Based on the trailer, there seems to be no gameplay differences, it is just the same old bird-flinging action that we are all familiar of. We are assuming that the new aspects and features will somehow take advantage of Facebook's social media structure. So maybe there will be some sort of cooperative play or maybe even competitive (angry birds vs. evil pigs anyone?) between friends. And because this is Facebook, expect your news feed to be flooded with Angry Birds social posts come Valentine's Day.
So will the collaboration between these two popular giants be a breakthrough success? Or will it just be more of the same? [via Mashable]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
