If you have been keeping yourself in the loop with regards to Apple lately, you will find that there have been some rumors that the fruit company is planning to enter the HDTV market. Well here's a piece of speculation stating that we will get to see the new Apple "iTV" being integrated into the next generation iMac.
According to a report by Forbes, Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair wrote in a research note that the next version of the iMac will likely include the rumored TV functionality that Apple is going to dive into. This basically turns the new Mac as the transition point into Apple's full-fledged HDTV business. Blair is speculating that Apple will be pushing the largest screen sizes of the iMac into the TV market by incorporating it with the features of the iCloud and Apple TV. Basically turning the next gen iMac into an all-in-one PC with TV functionalities.
We think this makes sense because while we typically think about the newest TV’s hanging on the wall in large form factors, Apple could effectively start with what they already have on the manufacturing line and slowly push their offering from 27 inches and scale up from there to 32 inches and then move on to the 42, 50 and 55 inch market.
Rumors of Apple trying to penetrate the TV market started when the Steve Jobs authorized biography by Walter Isaacson was published. According to Steve Jobs, his plan is to "create an integrated television set…that would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud."
