If you have been yourself in the loop about the happenings in the jailbreaking community lately, then you will know that the much awaited iOS 5 untethered jailbreak is already down the horizon. To be specific, it is pod2g's untethered exploit for the iOS 5. And now the famed hacker and exploit finder has an update for us.
Aside from the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak, people who have bought Apple's latest handset, the iPhone 4S have yet to see any form of a working jailbreak. It has been two months since the newest iPhone has been released but being an A5 device like the iPad 2, it has been proven to be a tough nut crack. Pod2g has an interesting update for iPhone 4S owners regarding his untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.
From pod2g's blog:
Here are the news of the 4S week-end.
The untether fails right now because I’m having processor cache issues.
I’m close, but I can’t figure out what happens. It certainly has something to do with the multicore cache management.
I could sort it out quick, it’s a matter of chance.
Last week, pod2g announced his progress that he already finished his untethered jailbreak code for all A4 devices. So now he has directed his attention on the new iPhone. From what it looks like, pod2g is having some difficulties making his exploit work with the iPhone 4S. But we rather like his optimistic tone and that he will be sorting this out quick. This could be a hint that the upcoming untethered exploit will be software based one, which much like Comex's JailbreakMe exploit, has a fair chance that it will work on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 as well.
Well all we can do is just wait, cross our fingers and hope that pod2g succeeds. Rest assured that pod2g is doing the best that he can. Are you excited for pod2g's untethered exploit?Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
