The jailbreak community currently have all eyes on jailbreak hacker and exploit finder pod2g. This is of course because of his ongoing work on bringing untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. He has already successfully finished the untethered jailbreak code for A4 devices and now pod2g has yet another update for us and it is a good one.
Yesterday, we reported that pod2g has started testing his untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S. He also stated that he has been experiencing some caching issues with the iPhone 4S jailbreak. Now pod2g has updated his blog and it contains some rather interesting and promising news. He said that he has already figured out the A5 caching issues.
From pod2g's blog:
OK, figured it out, the A5 cache is not a problem anymore.
I sorted it out by doing the untether in a single thread and by flushing all the dcache then all the icache in a row at a strategical point of the process.
In relation to the iPhone 4S jailbreak, pod2g also consulted with Jay "Saurik" Freeman about the launched boot process and it seems that the father of Cydia has found something that will finally stabilize pod2g's jailbreak.
Another news : I discussed with @saurik today about the launchd boot process, and he's found one missing piece of the puzzle I needed to have a perfectly stable jailbreak. He's definitly one of the best iOS gurus out there. Thank you saurik!
Now that is definitely an interesting news right? The jailbreak for the iPhone 4S is still unknown whether it is going to be tethered or untethered. Many iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users are surely going to be happy with a tethered jailbreak but of course, untethered is still the best. Pod2g's progress is rather very impressive and it seems that the rumored Christmas time release is looking good by the minute.
Again no ETA on the release of the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak yet, so stay tune with us and we will surely update you regarding this matter. [via ModMyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
