While it has been a while since they have been lagging behind in the smartphone race, Nokia has been trying to stay afloat with its latest Windows Phone powered device called Lumia 800. The Finnish smartphone manufacturer just announced that they will be producing limited editions of Lumia 800 inspired by the upcoming new Batman movie, Dark Knight Rises.
The limited Lumia 800 is basically a pure black variant of the smartphone complete with a laser-etched Batman logo at the lower back of the device. This is of course going to be tied-in to the upcoming feature film that is slated to come out next year. According to SlashGear, only 40 units of the handset will be produced. Check out below the photo snapped by Jon Choo and posted to Twitter ahead of the IMAX previews of the upcoming Batman film.
The limited edition Lumia 800 also comes with a neat matching packaging. The handset is contained in Nokia's traditional bright blue cardboard box which is then wrapped in a matte black sleeve with a black Batman logo. Here's a good look of what the package looks like:
There is no word yet if there are special apps and software included in this limited edition of Lumia 800. The movie Dark Knight rises is the third installment from the highly acclaimed Batman reboot series by director Christopher Nolan. Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, the film is set eight years after the events of Dark Knight. The film producers held a special press event at London’s IMAX theatre where the first six minutes of the film was shown.
