When it comes to Apple products, it is fair to expect that the closer we are to the release date, the more rumors, leaks, speculations and so on thrown in our way. Such statement was definitely true with the iPhone 5 (which of course turned out to be the iPhone 4S) and now that seems to ring true with the upcoming iPad as well. In today's report, alleged parts of the iPad 3 surfaced in a Chinese iPhone parts seller's website.
The folks from CydiaBlog has discovered a replacement part for the iPad 3 in the website of TVC Mall, a Chinese iPhone parts seller. The part in question is the iPad 3 Microphone Mic Flex Cable Ribbon and when compared with the iPad 2, it shows a different internal circuitry arrangement. So what does this mean? This basically hints that the iPad 3 may feature a major redesign.
As CydiaBlog reports:
The new part, when compared with iPad 2, shows a different arrangement in internal circuitry, hinting a major re-design. The tail end of the part makes a “U-turn”, whereas the iPad 2?s Microphone Mic Flex Cable makes almost 90-degree turn both ways. Except for few details, the leaked part so far doesn’t offer a tantalizing tease.
Even though these parts do exists, it doesn't mean that they will end up on the final model of the next generation iPad. It is quite common for manufacturers to be asked to create multiple variant of parts so that it can be subjected to testing and majority of them pretty much stays on Apple's research lab.
We have been getting reports that the iPad 3 will be launching in February, others say that it will be three to four months from now. There have also been various rumors that the next-gen iPad will feature a high-res Retina Display and that it will utilize a new backlighting system. As of now, only Apple knows what are the improvements for the next iPad. Expect more rumors, leaks, speculations and predictions regarding the iPad 3 in the next months to come.
