Ever since Apple's most advanced mobile operating system the iOS 5 has been released, there is only one thing that most jailbreak fans have been clamoring for, untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Two months have passed and still no untethered solution. But as jailbreak users loses their hope, pod2g comes to the rescue by showing the world that he has finally cracked iOS 5. And this time he has more good news.
If you have been keeping yourself in the loop regarding the latest jailbreak news, you will know that famed jailbreak hacker and exploit finder pod2g has finally completed his iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. He then went and worked on iOS 5.0.1 and fortunately he was able to find the untethered exploit for it as well. Pod2g is currently hard at work with working on the said untethered jailbreak and has been posting his progress through his official blog.
Pod2g is currently on the process of testing majority of the available iDevices using his untethered exploit for iOS 5.0.1. Here are the list of devices that pod2g were able to complete the untethered jailbreak code for:
As you may notice, the device listed above are all of the A4 devices available. And once he's done with testing the exploit on each of the device, then all A4 devices will finally have an iOS 5 untethered jailbreak. Pod2g don't exactly own all of these devices so he has to either borrow from a friend or have fans ship the device to him for testing.
Unfortunately, not everyone will be happy with this news. Owners of the new iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are once again left in the dust because pod2g doesn't have access to those devices. So as of now, there is still no word if the upcoming untethered jailbreak will support A5 devices.
As you can see, pod2g is hard at work to ensure that he will be able to finally bring untethered jailbreaks for iOS 5. And he's making progress at a rather impressive pace. So will jailbreak fans receive an awesome gift from pod2g this Christmas? Well, we are crossing our fingers. Hopefully soon! [via ModMyi]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
