AlbumArt on AppSwitcher: Display Now Playing Song’s Album Art on App Switcher

For hardcore customization in the iOS, there is no other way to do it but to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS is certainly a closed platform due to which customization is somehow limited. That is why most people resort to jailbreaking their device. And today we have yet another tweak that would enable users to customize another aspect of the iOS 5.

AlbumArt on AppSwitcher
The name of this featured tweak is called AlbumArt on AppSwitcher from author deVbug. As the name of this jailbreak tweak implies, this simple but neat tweak incorporates a song's album art into the app switcher. In case you don't know, the app switcher also contains the controls for the iPod / Music app. By default, you should see the Music app icon into the right of the controls. But with this new jailbreak tweak, the Music App icon is replaced by the playing song's album cover. Check out the screenshots below to check how the tweak looks like:

As you can see from the screenshots, this is a simple but elegant tweak. And this kind of makes you wonder why this sort of feature is not available by default. According to its Cydia description, this tweak only applies to the Music / iPod app but somehow it also works with other music applications such as Spotify, Pandora and many more. Tapping on the album art will launch the Music / iPod application.

AlbumArt on AppSwitcher may not be the most elegantly named tweak but what it does definitely counts as elegant. And best of all, this jailbreak tweak can yours for no cost at all. If you want this tweak, just head over to Cydia under the BigBoss repo to find it. And oh, this only works on iOS 5.

AlbumArt on AppSwitcher is only available to an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch jailbroken on iOS 5. Don't worry if you haven't done it yet because we have the tutorials you need.
