If you are a regular reader of our blog, then it is highly likely that you are already aware of the virtues of jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad & iPod touch. As you may already know, we like bringing to our reader's attention the apps and tweaks from Cydia which we think are actually worth checking out. Either the tweak is extremely useful or it offers a unique functionality to your iOS device. Now we have a tweak that many users should find useful.
When it comes to phone functions, text messaging is definitely one of the most frequently used feature. Users who haven't been living in a rock for the past decade should know just how important text messaging is for a mobile device. The SMS feature on the iOS is definitely one of the most intuitive out there and it has gone through various improvements. Now with the advent of iOS 5, iDevice users can now enjoy sending free text messages through iMessage much like what RIM devices have been offering for many years now. But the Messages.app can still be improved as evidenced by the various tweaks found in Cydia.
Now here’s a recently released tweak from Cydia called SMSConfirmation developed by author william_vab. Have you ever composed a text message but was unable to successfully send due to the lack of service, only to find out hours later that it failed to send? It can be rather frustrating especially if the matter at hand was urgent. SMSConfirmation basically gives you a push notification informing you whether you have successfully sent a text message or not. But be wary that the popup notification will appear each time you send a text message, so it can get annoying eventually. So keep that in mind before downloading this tweak. But still it should be useful for many users especially to those who doesn't bother to check whether their SMS has been sent or not.
SMSConfirmation is a free jailbreak tweak which can be found under the ModMyi repository.
As per usual, you need to have a jailbroken iOS device before you can use SMSConfirmation. In case you haven't yet, just check out these following guides we have provided for you. For iOS 4.3.5 firmware users, we refer you to our Redsn0w tethered jailbreak guide. If you would rather have an untethered jailbreak, we recommended you restore your iDevice to iOS 4.3.3 and jailbreak it using one of the following tools: Redsn0w, Sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool or JailbreakMe (Recommended for beginners). If you have installed the iOS 5.0 build, read our Redsn0w tutorial for a tethered solution. For a semi-tethered jailbreak however, read our complete guide here. For users who have gotten the latest firmware update, check out our iOS 5.0.1 final guide here.
