There is denying that mobile gaming has come a long way. As of this writing the iTunes App Store houses about 500,000 apps and a good chunk of them are games which is nothing short of amazing. This means that no matter what your taste in gaming are, you should be able to find something that will tickle your fancy. And these are not just simplistic touch-based games like Angry Birds or Fruit Ninja (that's not saying they are not fun, far from it), there are games as well that pushes the hardware limits of Apple's iDevices. One such game is Chair's Infinity Blade.
Now we're pleased to inform you that a sequel for Infinity Blade is already in the horizon, it fact it will be releasing in just a week, December 1st. Developer Chair has released a two-minute trailer which showcases Infinity Blade 2 and with the Creative Director and Artistic Director explaining how were they able to improve the sequel using the power of the new A5 chip which is found on the new iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. Check out the trailer video for Infinity Blade 2:
As you can see, it seems that the developers were able to improve the visuals even more and they are adding more visual pizzazz by incorporating more realistic and beautiful lighting effects. Just one look at it and you can tell that more than ever it can rival other full games that are found in the current generation home consoles. Thanks to the more powerful hardware of new iOS devices such as the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2.
Aside from the improved visuals, it seems that the developers are also upping the ante by adding more variations to the environment and based on the video, aside from fighting your way through castles and coliseums, you also get to visit an ancient pagoda. And from the looks of it, it seems that players will once again duel more enemies along the way from intimidating armored warriors to massive, hulking monstrosities. It seems that we will be seeing more of the good stuff with this sequel.
Infinity Blade is one of the most popular games on the iOS and it is definitely one of the best ones on the platform. Infinity Blade is like the poster-boy of gaming on the iOS and it fluidly demonstrates what Apple's mobile operating system is capable of in terms of gaming. We highly recommend that you play it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. And as a promotion for the upcoming sequel, Infinity Blade is being offered for only $2.99 (usual price is $5.99).
Watch out for Infinity Blade 2 on December 1st which is certainly set to become the no. 1 on the charts of paid apps. [via SlidetoPlay]Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
