There is no doubt that this week have been crazy for the Cupertino giant. In case you have been living in a desolated cave away from civilization for the larger portion of the week, then you'll know that Apple finally announced their next major smartphone, the iPhone 4S at last Tuesday's "Let's Talk iPhone" event. It was of course followed by a rather tragic event as the father of Apple, Steve Jobs passed away yesterday. But as they say, it has to be business as usual for Apple and the fans alike. And with that said, we are here to give you a friendly reminder that you will be able to pre-order the iPhone 4S starting tonight.
As it was announced in Apple's iPhone event, the 4S will be available for pre-order on October 7th at exactly 12.01am PST or 3.01am EST, and that is of course tonight. No details have been revealed with regards to the pre-order process but it should be safe to say that it won't be different from last year's procedure. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world will be able to place a pre-order. Only customers from the US, Australia, France, Canada, Germany, Japan and the UK will be able to place their pre-orders.
And while we are at it, we might as well remind you again of the pricing structure for the iPhone 4S. Pretty much like the previous iPhones went, the iPhone 4S will be available in three storage variants: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models which costs $199, $299, and $399 respectively. This time around, the iPhone 4S will be offered in two colored variants, the black and white. Yes, if you somehow prefer the white iPhone 4S, then you can pre-order it right away if you want and not wait for several months like what happened to the iPhone 4. It will be available for AT&T, Verizon and for the first time ever, Sprint subscribers will be able to join in on the fun as well.
As for the older iPhone models, the 3GS (still alive and kicking) will come FREE to those who sign-up for a carrier contract. The iPhone 4 on the other hand will launch in a new 8GB model which will cost you $99. On a side note, Sprint is now taking pre-order for the iPhone 4.
Major iPhone carrier AT&T will be providing their subscribers with AT&T Upgrader, an app that will assist customers who are planning to upgrade to iPhone 4S. The app will also inform them if they are eligible for upgrade or not, how much is the price and if they will be able to place a pre-order.
The iPhone 4S is Apple's latest handset and it looks improve upon the largely successful iPhone 4. With its A5 dual core processor chip, the 8 megapixel camera capable of taking photos with 3264 x 2448 resolution and the 4S exclusive feature Siri, the artificial intelligence assistant.
