Certainly one of the greatest advantage to jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is for the purpose of customization. Through the thousands of jailbreak tweaks and apps available in Cydia, you can pretty much customize every aspect of your iOS device. With regards to that, there are jailbreak utilities that changes the feel of the iOS such as Winterboard and Dreamboard and there are those which are extremely useful such as SBSettings. If you are someone who likes to customize their iPhone's GUI, then you will surely enjoy today's jailbreak tweak.
Introducing Color Keyboard from author Yoo-Seung Kim, and as its name implies, this jailbreak tweak allows you to cosmetically alter your device's keyboard interface. This is perfect for those who thinks that the iOS's default keyboard looks quite bland. The tweak comes with a nice selection of themes which changes the overall look of the keyboard. There is also an option for theming the popup key and as well as the background of the keyboard.
Upon installation of Color Keyboard, you will notice that there is no Springboard icon for it. Instead, if you want to configure the tweak, you will need to navigate to the iOS Settings. And from there, you access the settings for Color Keyboard. As you can see from the screenshots, this tweak delivers exactly what it promises. We have tested it, and it does work well so far. Obviously, you can probably come up with a better color scheme since these screenshots are simply for the sake of demonstration. For iOS 5 users, the tweak has been updated just recently so it will work with the latest firmware.
Sure this tweak might not exactly fall into the category of "must have" and some users may not even find it remotely useful, but for those who are fond of theming their iOS device, there are lot of things to like here. This at least provides you with another way to customize your iDevice. Color Keyboard is available in Cydia under the BigBoss repo for $1.99.
Since this is another Cydia tweak, you know the drill. You need to have a jailbroken iOS device before you can use Color Keyboard.
