By now, you already know that we are very close to the much awaited announcement of Apple with regards to its next generation iPhone. It is largely expected that Apple will be holding its annual media event either during the last week of September or first week of October. Many are believing that Apple's media event will be the podium where the fruit company will be announcing its upcoming devices. Along with the announcement of the iPhone 5, there are various reports indicating that a new modestly upgraded iPod touch will be announced as well, and it will come in white.
According to a report by MacRumors, in the coming weeks Apple will be holding a press conference where it will be announcing its fall lineup which includes the next generation iPhone and the new iPod touch. Based on the information received, the next iteration of the iPod touch will feature modest upgrades in terms of hardware such as the addition of oleophobic coating for the display and a revamped ambient light sensor. And yes, according to sources, a new white model will be introduced as well. Aside from the mentioned changes, it is expected that the iPod touch 5G will be almost identical to the current generation iPod touch.
If this report is indeed true, then it would be safe to assume that we won't be getting a 3G capable iPod touch anytime soon, which is stated by previous reports. The iPod touch is certainly an excellent multimedia device and it manages to be the next best bet to getting an iPhone for an affordable price. For most people, the iPod touch does a great job of being an iPhone without the call and text capabilities. But the problem with the current iPod touch is that it is only limited to WiFi in terms of connectivity. Once the device is not connected to a WiFi, most of its functionalities and applications becomes rather useless. So if this report turns out to be true, then it would be disappointing for iPod touch fans.
Again, not much is known about the next iPod touch because most of the reports are focused on its older sibling, the iPhone 5. So it could still be possible that this rumor of a slightly upgraded iPod touch proves to be false. Alongside the new iPhone and iPod touch, there are whispers as well that the iPod Nano will be getting a minor upgrade as well. We'll just have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us once the fruit company finally make the announcements.Contact Us for News Tips, Corrections and Feedback
